Our first experience here was absolutely perfect, with every dish truly standing out. The duck in plum sauce was exquisite, and the Yung Chow fried rice was simply amazing. We were also delighted by the lovely staff and the exceptionally clean premises, which makes us certain we will definitely be returning.

My experience here delivered what was possibly the worst Chinese food I've encountered in Manchester, coupled with undeniably the worst service. The roast duck with ginger and pineapple was a complete letdown, tasting like a tin of Del Monte pineapple mixed with sugar, an overwhelming amount of large onion pieces, and boiled duck, with absolutely no hint of ginger. The sweet and sour vegetables were equally disappointing, featuring copious amounts of large onion chunks alongside a single sliced carrot, all swimming in what felt like a quarter of a pint of vinegar with just a teaspoon of sugar. As for the chicken chow mein, it was simply a disgusting slop of boiled chicken, more big pieces of onion, a foul sauce, and overcooked noodles. Even the salt and pepper chips were just McCains chips tossed with large pieces of onion and chilli. It became clear that a recurring theme across the dishes was the excessive use of large, cheap onion pieces. The only redeeming item was the boiled rice, which, considering the overall quality, felt like a true achievement for such a poor cook. Beyond the pathetic food, the preparation took an hour, and some items arrived lukewarm. I strongly advise against wasting your money here; it's not even cheap, and you'd be much better off driving a little further for a decent meal. I genuinely question what those who praise this takeaway have eaten in the past, as it certainly doesn't resemble good Cantonese food. I know I'm dwelling on it, but this really was exceptionally bad food, and it makes me shudder to think about the cleanliness standards of whoever is preparing it if they are content with this output.

I found the beef curry and boiled rice to be truly satisfying. My only minor quibble was with the salt and pepper chips, which unfortunately arrived overcooked. Nevertheless, this establishment is certainly among the most budget-friendly choices in the area, and I consistently find the quality of their meals to be quite decent.

The food here is always a delight, arriving wonderfully hot every time. If you're considering the king prawns, I can confirm they are consistently large and incredibly succulent, a real highlight. Beyond the delicious dishes, the service truly stands out; the young lady is always so nice and polite. Even though we live a good nine miles away, we happily make the trip because this place genuinely surpasses every other Chinese takeaway we've tried.

I truly believe that Mr Yungs and Dream Time are the absolute best Chinese options in this vicinity. When I'm craving a delicious Chinese meal to enjoy at home, Mr Yungs is my top pick for takeaway, whereas Dream Time is excellent if you're planning to sit down for lunch.

Without a doubt, this stands out as the finest Chinese takeaway in Altrincham. The Salt & Pepper chips and curry here are truly exceptional, easily surpassing what's offered at the nearby fish and chips shop. Portions are notably generous, ensuring great value. Additionally, the staff consistently demonstrate a very gentle and friendly approach. Their dishes come highly recommended.

I've genuinely never encountered a Chinese meal this salty before in my life. Anyone managing high blood pressure should seriously consider avoiding this place, as the seasoning was overwhelmingly intense. A significant portion of my order unfortunately ended up in the bin, as it truly felt like I was eating a plate covered in an entire pot of salt. I certainly won't be returning for another visit.

It had been quite some time since we last enjoyed a traditional Chinese takeaway, and this experience was truly delightful. The crispy duck, in particular, stood out with its generous portion of meat. We found the Cantonese fillet steak, kung po king prawns, and char sui to be absolutely fantastic. There was a substantial amount of food, and every dish was incredibly flavorful. Everything arrived perfectly packed and wonderfully hot, so we will definitely be ordering from here again very soon.

My loyalty to Mr. Yung's Cantonese Takeaway stretches back decades, ever since 1997. Though I reside overseas these days, a week-long visit home means one thing: getting my fix. It's barely 9 AM, and with their doors not opening until 5 PM, I'm already practically salivating at the thought of placing my order. While I admit this review might seem a bit ahead of schedule, I have absolute faith it will be nothing short of delicious, truly wonderful! Should the food somehow deviate from its usual amazing standard, I'll certainly update this, but if you find this review still showing five stars by tomorrow, June 26th, 2019, consider it proof that some things in life remain consistently excellent. During moments of quiet contemplation, I sometimes affectionately refer to this establishment as 'Mr. Yum's'. My only minor grievances are the limited operating hours on most days, its exclusive location in Altrincham rather than pursuing global culinary dominance, and my wish that I had discovered this gem even earlier in life. May this remarkable man be blessed, and long live his incredible culinary legacy.
